Philippe Masson joined AV&R’s team in 2007. Holder of a bachelor’s degree in Automated Production Engineering from the École de Technologie Supérieure in 2006, he held at first the position of Robot and Industrial PLCs Designer-Programmer. Thereafter, Philippe acquired management skills while holding a Projects Manager position from 2009 to 2011. He had the chance to take care of major projects in Quebec and abroad. Interested in machine vision, he held the position of Automated Visual Inspection’s Technological Manager from 2011 to 2014. This role allowed him to develop a better understanding of research and development as well as to focus the technological development according to clients’ needs.
In 2014, he was promoted to Director Software Research and Development. His team oversaw the development and maintenance of AV&R’s various platforms and software applications. These platforms and applications are used for engineering projects achievement as well as the technological development of AV&R’s different working groups.
Responding to the growth of partnership in Research and Development with external collaborators, he was promoted in 2017 to Strategic Partnerships Manager creating and managing links between AV&R and clients, universities, research centers and government agencies around the world.
